Grace and Jordan’s Wedding at Elegant Assets Event Center in Elyria, Ohio

Outdoor ceremony at Elegant Events Center in Elyria, Ohio

Grace and Jordan’s wedding day at Elegant Assets Event Center in Elyria, Ohio was one of those celebrations where every little detail seemed to tell part of their story. From the emotional moments to the laughter-filled reception, their wedding felt warm, personal, and wonderfully genuine from beginning to end.

When I first arrived at the Venue, I noticed staff members meticulously sorting table cards and fastening them with clothespins. It was kind of exciting watching it all come together. Later, I found out that Jordan had created this unique, handmade table ticket display out of wood and wire, where guests could pluck their assigned seats right off and know exactly where to find them. Ingenious!

The event coordinator escorted me to the bride’s dressing room. Having gotten to know Grace a bit before the wedding (I always do a discovery call with my wedding couples prior to their big day), and since she and her makeup artist were busy, I simply said hello and began quietly photographing the room as moments unfolded naturally around me. When things are happening, I never want to interrupt what may turn out to be something magical — and indeed it was.

Their daughter, Sunny, completely lit up the room. She danced, chatted, posed for the camera, and happily checked out the images on the back of my camera after I snapped them. Once she realized how fun this all was, she became even more animated. She brought such an infectious energy to the morning preparations.

Grace and Jordan also had a beautifully arranged memorial table honoring dearly departed loved ones, including Grace’s mother. I made a point of photographing those meaningful details, along with the elegant floral arrangements lining the hallway leading into the reception area. Those quiet touches often become some of the most emotionally important memories from a wedding day.

One of the things couples will immediately notice about Elegant Assets Event Center is how much character the venue has. Housed inside a former school building sitting on a spacious piece of property, the venue combines historic charm with surprisingly versatile event spaces. Because of the building’s original design, the rooms are exceptionally large and open — something that’s honestly hard to find at many wedding venues today. Whether you’re planning a wedding with several hundred guests or something much smaller and intimate, the layout easily adapts without feeling cramped or overwhelming.

The outdoor wedding grotto was especially beautiful. Nestled among towering trees with arching branches overhead, the ceremony space felt almost storybook-like. Chandelier-style lighting fixtures hung beneath the trees, inviting guests toward the ceremony site while the long winding pathway created a dramatic and emotional entrance for the wedding party. Every couple walking down the path had their own little “moment of fame” — including the flower girl and ring bearer, both fully absorbed in their important responsibilities.

Grace and Jordan’s reception took place inside what was once the school gymnasium, although you’d never know it from the décor. In fact, I actually had to ask about it myself. Elegant Assets Event Center has done an incredible job transforming the space into a warm, elegant reception hall while still preserving some of the building’s original industrial charm. One thing I especially appreciated as a photographer was how spacious everything felt. I frequently encounter tight reception layouts at many event centers, but not here. I was able to move freely throughout the room capturing candid moments of guests laughing together, cheering the couple on during kisses, and reacting to the heartfelt speeches from the maid of honor and best man — Jordan’s father.

As the evening continued, emotions ran especially high during the parent dances. First came Grace and Jordan’s dance together, filled with laughter as Jordan spun her around and around before pulling her in for a kiss. Then came the touching dance between Grace and her father, followed by a beautifully quiet moment between Jordan and his mother, who seemed completely wrapped up in their own heartfelt conversation while slow dancing together.

Near the end of the evening, the newlyweds finally slipped away for a few quiet moments alone together after such an emotional and joy-filled day. Although it would have been the perfect opportunity for more photographs, I chose not to interrupt them. Sometimes the most meaningful moments are the ones meant to remain private — remembered not through photographs, but simply through memory itself.

Grace and Jordan, thank you both for allowing me to document such an unforgettable day. It was truly a joy witnessing the love between you, your families, and everyone who came together to celebrate your marriage.
